Printoid for OctoPrint

New major release of Printoid! It includes, in particular:

• A full and native integration of OctoEverywhere in the app
• The support of RTSP video streaming
• A better support of the Octolapse plugin

Integration of OctoEverywhere in the app

OctoEverywhere is now fully integrated in the application. This service helps you to get a full and secured connection to your OctoPrint server(s) from everywhere in the world, without complex configuration!

Printoid v18.00 brings you a full and native integration of this service:

• Easy connection portal from the onboarding of Printoid
• Easy connection / disconnection from the OctoPrint profiles panel in the app
• Secured connection using HTTPS + basic authentication automatically powered by OctoEverywhere

Better support of Octolapse plugin

Printoid now support the Octolapse pre-processing state when you start a printing job.

Support RTSP streaming

Printoid 18.00 supports video streaming with RTSP protocol. You need to configure the app accordingly:

• Open the left menu
• Select Current server settings
• Select the Streaming tab on the bottom
• Then adjust the Streaming mode to RTSP

Then Printoid will use the RTSP player everywhere in the app for this OctoPrint server (this is a server related setting, if you want to enable the RTSP player for all your OctoPrint profiles managed by Printoid, you need to enable this setting for all)

Interface improvements

The next steps in the development of the app will be a refactor of the interface, in order to provide you something a bit more modern and convenient to use. Also the users have changed during the past years, and now I have to provide an application a bit less complex. Printoid should be easy to use for everyone.

– Please do not ask me for the APK by email, Google Play is the only vector of distribution you shall trust. Moreover, I don’t not compile APK files anymore, but rather Android AppBundle only.
