Printoid for OctoPrint

v14.03 is out and contains the first part of the face lifting 😉

The interface of Printoid is more than 3 years old today, and is not modern. I’m doing my best to change that, the next versions of the app will improve a lot the way the app shows you information.

UI changes

The first step was to do a lifting of the “monitor” card of the dashboard. I’ve removed the 2 progress bar (estimated progress and real progress) and now, there is only one circular progress for the real progress. The card also shows you the amount of filament needed for the loaded/printing file + the sever status (printing, ready to print, paused, etc…)

You will also see a lot of other UI changes. Especially regarding the temperature value cards, and the file manager.

Emergency bug fix

I also did an emergency bug fix in this release.

Indeed a lot of users were experiencing a terrible issue: nothing is display in the app, only the camera is working and the commands sent to the printer. No info regarding the current job, the temperature, the files, etc.

It was an issue in my side: the “login” command was stuck and never returned any value. So the next commands were totally blocked, waiting for the login to return…

But in fact, it was also an issue on your side: the “login” command was stuck only and only if the OctoPrint credentials provided to the app were wrong.

So please double check the OctoPrint credentials you have passed to the app (in the OctoPrint profile page) if you are facing this issue, even if the v14.03 solves the blocking issue!!!

Progressive release:

• If the update is still not available yet for you, please be patient, it will available very soon for everyone.
• Please do not ask me for the APK by email, Google Play is the only vector of distribution you shall trust. Moreover, I don’t not compile APK files anymore, but rather Android AppBundle only.
