Version 14.06 (11/22/2019)

I got amazing news for you, dear users of Printoid! You can finally upload files to OctoPrint from your favorite cloud storage service, such as Google Drive, Dropbox, Mega, Nextcloud

Upload file from cloud account

Printoid is now able to upload GCODE and STL files to your OctoPrint server, when picked from one of your favorite cloud storage service application.

The ‘natural’ file picker is also back, since you can now select the source of your choice without ‘file not found’ issue.

You can then directly send files from Google Drive -> to OctoPrint for example.

Multi-materials configurations

Some of you are using 3D printers with multi-materials (more than one spool used for a same print – for example for dual-heads printers)

Printoid now displays you the information regarding the amount of filament for every extruder, in the details of your GCODE file.

If you are also using RollingUp to manage your stock of filament, Printoid is now able to communicate to RollingUp the amount of filament for the extruder of your choice. So you won’t have to input the whole amount of filament… on the same spool

Stack of panels

I’ve also reworked, in this version, the way to handle the stack of panels (screens) you are opening.

Before:

  • You are on the dashboard
  • You open the streaming panel (from the left menu)
  • You open the plugin panel (from the left menu) without closing the streaming panel
  • You click on ‘back’ (or from the back arrow in the toolbar)
  • You are directly back to the dashboard

After:

  • You are on the dashboard
  • You open the streaming panel (from the left menu)
  • You open the plugin panel (from the left menu) without closing the streaming panel
  • You click on ‘back’ (or from the back arrow in the toolbar)
  • You are back to the streaming panel
  • You click again on ‘back’ (or on the back arrow)
  • You are back to the dashboard

The previous behavior was pretty annoying because, each time you wanted to navigate to another panel, it was closing the panel previously showing. So you were obliged to open it again.

Now the app has a more natural behavior 🙂

Progressive release:

  • If the update is still not available yet for you, please be patient, it will available very soon for everyone.
  • Please do not ask me for the APK by email, Google Play is the only vector of distribution you shall trust. Moreover, I don’t not compile APK files anymore, but rather Android AppBundle only.
